Diocese

‘Diocese’ refers to the geographical territory in which a bishop exercises oversight. The Church in Wales is divided into six dioceses each with its own cathedral in which is housed the cathedra (the bishop’s ‘chair’ or ‘throne’).

Vicar moves on to become chaplain for local health board

Revd Sue Davies-Fletcher, the vicar in the Heart of Monmouthshire Ministry Area has accepted a role as Chaplain in the Aneurin Bevan Health Board.

Sue took up her role in the Ministry Area in July 2023 following a move from the South West of England and we are grateful for the work she has done and the relationships made during her time in the diocese, and we wish her well in her new position where she will be working in a number of hospitals in the local area.

Her final Sunday will be on 9th February 2025. Details of that will be made available in the Ministry Area in due course.
