Job Description

We’re looking for someone who can build organic relationships with people beyond the existing Church community, share the good news of Jesus authentically and confidently, and help those you encounter to take meaningful steps towards faith, worship, discipleship and belonging. The Community Evangelist will work with the wider Saints Chepstow team, to strengthen our presence in the local community, pioneering new opportunities for engagement and helping the whole church grow in its confidence and evangelism.

Role Highlights:

  • Location: Chepstow area including St Christopher’s Church and the Priory Church of St Marys.
  • Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week.
  • Salary: £31,261 (plus 10% employers pension contribution)
  • Contract: 3 year fixed term.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build genuine relationships with people beyond the existing church community, especially the unchurched, under 40’s and families.
  • Share the Christian faith naturally and help people take meaningful next steps.
  • Follow up and connect people into worship, faith exploration and discipleship in Saints.
  • Pioneer new opportunities for mission and equip others to grow in evangelism.

This role has a Genuine Occupational Requirement under the Equality Act 2010 for the postholder to be a communicant member of the Church in Wales or of a Church in communion with it or of a Member of CYTUN.
