Children and Families’ Pioneer – full time position, £26,599. Children, youth and families work in an exciting church plant.Location: Tredegar, South Wales.Do you have experience with children, youth or families? Are you enthusiastic about sharing the joy of your faith with the under 40s? Join Saints, a vibrant church plant, as our Children and Families’ Pioneer. Be part of a Hub Church Leadership Team in Tredegar, pioneering new initiatives, designing engaging activities, and nurturing young hearts. Your role involves building relationships, partnering with schools, and creating safe spaces for growth. This role benefits from the support of a church leader, a project manager, and senior clergy, including those responsible for the areas where the hub churches are located, and Archdeacons who have oversight of a large geographical area and are members of the Bishop’s Staff Team. The TeamYou’ll be working with Adrian Davila, the newly appointed hub church leader, and both of you will be supported by the lead cleric in the area, Revd Matt Davies. More information about both is below.Adrian, a friendly Tredegar local, is an active member of several communities within the town, including boxing. He enjoys learning about the Church and growing in his Christian faith. He has a professional background in coaching digital marketing and social media. Adrian aims to bring his creativity and passion to his Hub Church Plant Lead role and his local knowledge with the Hub team to grow the new church and make missional endeavours in Tredegar. Rev Matt Davis is the ministry area leader for the Mynydd Bedwellte Ministry Area. Originally from Birmingham, he came to Wales over 15 years ago for university in Aberystwyth. After that, he moved to Newport to join a pioneering church community called The Lab. This entailed living and working on an urban estate on the city's outskirts while looking to grow new forms of Church with the people living there. Matt's passion for mission and ministry is seeing that those who would never darken the Church's doors get to know Jesus. He trained as a Pioneer Priest for ordained ministry with the Church Mission Society and Ripon College Cuddesdon and served his curacy in Cardiff before taking post in the valleys. Under Matt's leadership, the churches were brought together to form the ministry area, working across the diverse groups to see what God was calling them to be part of, which led to the set-up of the Church Hub in Tredegar. He lives with his wife and children in Tredegar, and in his spare time, he likes hanging out with them, going to gigs (punk/metal), watching ice hockey, and making things.
