Archdeacon Jonathan's retirement service

A special service was held at Newport Cathedral on Sunday to wish the Ven Jonathan Williams, Archdeacon of Newport, a happy retirement.

Jonathan has served nearly all of his ministry in this diocese. He’s been archdeacon of Newport since 2013 and Bishop’s Chaplain since 2020.

It was a joyful service with some of Jonathan’s favourite readings. There was beautiful music from a combined choir from across the archdeaconry and a brass orchestra made up of musicians from across his ministry.

We wish Jonathan and Carol well and thank them for all their dedication to this diocese over so many years. Diolch yn fawr iawn!
