CULTURE
Culture is the living expression of our values in community.
It influences how we lead, how we serve, and how we live out our faith together.
While our diocesan vision (Faith in Our Future) calls us to action, our culture defines the way we act. It is about the values we embody, the relationships we build, and the environment we create across our churches, Ministry Areas, and diocesan structures.
Why Culture Matters
Culture is not just about what we do—it’s about who we are becoming. It influences:
- How we welcome and include others
- How we make decisions and resolve conflict
- How we care for one another and ourselves
- How we lead, communicate, and collaborate
- How we reflect the identity of Wales in our shared life
Our Culture Guide reminds us that how we are perceived and how we behave both matter. A healthy culture helps us grow spiritually and numerically, and ensures we move forward together.
Our Core Values
Through wide consultation, we identified six values that define our diocesan culture:
- Love
- Generosity
- Joy
- Humility
- Courage
- Integrity
These values are not just words—they are lived out in our worship, governance, wellbeing, and everyday interactions.

A Living Culture
Our culture is not static—it grows as we grow. It is shaped by our worship, our relationships, and our shared commitment to becoming a Church that reflects the love of Christ in all we do.
