Discipleship and training for ministry – like any part of the Christian life – should be shaped to look like the communities in which they take place. Serving in ministry in one context will look very different from serving in another. In the same way, discipleship will look different depending on how a local community sees the world, how they speak, and how they understand their calling.

Dr Charlie Shepherd is the Learning Development Advisor for the Diocese, and he oversees both discipleship and training for ministry.  When it comes to these areas, there are many resources out there to help local church contexts. We have created a webpage to point you to some of these: www.monmouthdisciples.com.

As a reflection of how discipleship can look different depending on context, we have also launched a new film series called ‘Twelve’. You can find out more at www.twelvefilm.org.
