Diocese

‘Diocese’ refers to the geographical territory in which a bishop exercises oversight. The Church in Wales is divided into six dioceses each with its own cathedral in which is housed the cathedra (the bishop’s ‘chair’ or ‘throne’).

Priest

‘Priest’ comes from the Greek word for ‘elder’. Priests in the Church in Wales are those authorised specifically to proclaim forgiveness of sins, preside at the Eucharist and bless God’s people, as well as other responsibilities.

TREDEGAR PARK MINISTRY AREA

We are looking for a collaborative and supportive priest with a genuine passion for discipleship to join us as we form a new Ministry Area to serve a group of communities in Newport in South-East Wales.

Are you someone who:

  • Is a people person, able to connect with those both in and outside the Church?
  • Has a strong faith and a desire to share God’s love?
  • Has gifts in leadership while being a team player?
  • Can empower others to use their gifts in God’s service?
  • Is sensitive, compassionate and prayerful with a good sense of humour?

If you think this could be you then we would very much like to hear from you.
