Jesus said: “When you are praying, do not heap up empty phrases… for your Father knows what you need before you ask him. Pray then in this way:  Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come. Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And do not bring us to the time of trial, but rescue us from the evil one.”
Matthew 6:5-13

Christians learn to pray and it’s a lifelong task which is always helping us develop and grow. If you’d like to start there is help and some prayers you could start with here. If you are already on the way and would like the support of a spiritual director or companion, it may be that developing a relationship with a more experienced person of prayer could really help your own journey.

As a Diocese, we have a cycle of prayer which remembers every congregation, priest and officer throughout the year, as well as partners and communities.
