Safeguarding

In January 2016 the appointment of Safeguarding Support Officers across each of the Dioceses of the Church in Wales heralded the creation of the Safeguarding team under the leadership of Elaine Cloke (Head of Safeguarding).

The development of this team strengthens the commitment of the Church in Wales to safeguarding children and Adults at Risk in our churches and communities through ‘Safe Church’ Training.

The safeguarding team was established following the recommendations of the Historic Cases Review published in 2011.

In the Diocese of Monmouth our provincial safeguarding officer is Amelia Jarvis who will provide specialist support to colleagues in Parishes and Ministry Areas.
