Award-winning photos?

‘Life in the Diocese’ Photography Competition

Do you have what it takes to take an award-winning photograph?  The Diocese of Monmouth is on the hunt for keen amateur photographers to enter a new competition to capture life in the Diocese.

The new competition is open to anybody who lives or worships in the Diocese of Monmouth, and there is a separate competition for young people aged 14 and under.

Entries are invited in five categories:

  • Christian Life
  • Worship
  • Faith in action
  • Our place in creation
  • Sacred heritage

Closing date for entries is Wednesday 31 August 2016, and winners will be announced at the Diocesan Conference on Saturday 15 October.   A selection of photographs will be displayed at Newport Cathedral at the end of October and in a 2017 Diocesan calendar.

Entrants are invited to interpret the categories in whatever way they wish.  Entries should be emailed to monmouthphotocompetition@churchinwales.org.uk, including their name and category in the subject line.  Entrants under 14 should also include their date of birth.

Full details and terms and conditions are available here.
